Below are the eligibilities.

Eligibility

1.        Any resident of the Hernando (38632) area, between the ages of 14-18, may make application for membership in the Love Volunteer Fire Department Junior Firefighter Program.  At the discretion of the LFD Chief, Asst. Chief and Board of Directors.

2.        The applicant must be in good academic standing at his/her school at the time of application and during the period of membership as a Junior Firefighter. A minimum GPA of 2.0 (“C”) must be maintained. A copy of the Junior Firefighters report card must be received every six weeks, and filed to maintain junior enrollment.

3.        The applicant must complete an application, including a medical authorization and police background check. Included with the application is a parental consent that must be signed by a parent or legal guardian. The application must be approved by the membership committee head, LFD Members and LFD Board of Directors.

Mission Statement

It is the mission of Love Volunteer Fire Department to provide both emergency and non-emergency care, to the people that live, visit, and travel through the area served by the Love Volunteer Fire Department, without regard to race, creed, color, or financial status. These services include those emergencies both manmade and natural. We are constantly striving for improvement in the care delivered, the quality of members, patients, and members of the community.

Our mission is to protect the lives and property of the citizens by use of Inspections, Education, Community Involvement, and when necessary Emergency Response. Our primary goal is to protect and save lives, we accomplish this by fire education to lower our responses.

The Love Volunteer Fire Department was established to serve the residents of the fire district in any way we can. Community involvement is the key to fulfilling our mission.
